Arrive 15 minutes early for your first yoga class so you’ll have time to register, change and familiarize yourself with the studio or building. Locate water dispenser, restrooms and fire exits and any thing else pertinent to your visit.
During the minutes before your class starts, locate your yoga instructor and introduce yourself. Ask your instructor any questions you may have during this pre-class time. Alert your instructor to any physical limitation or health problems your may have prior to the beginning of class. Don’t be shy, everyone is different. Our teachers are always there to help you.
Start out with a beginners class until you learn the basics. Choosing the right class for your novice level will help you lay a good foundation and be successful in more advanced yoga classes later on.
Practice Makes Perfect
The more you practice yoga, the better you will become at it and the quicker your body will respond to the positive changes you are making. Most yoga instructors suggest attending class 3-4 times per week.
If you need help, ask. If you have a question, ask. Your yoga instructor is here to help make your experience, as well as that of your classmates, enjoyable. Ask what you will at appropriate times and in a respectful manner.
